Avoiding New Poverty: Mining-Induced Displacement and Resettlement

This report discusses the risks that mining-induced displacement and resettlement (MIDR) poses to societal sustainability. It highlights the gap in MIDR literature and a lack of a global survey. It concludes that failure to mitigate against impoverishment risks from MIDR may generate "new poverty" as opposed to "old poverty" that peoples suffered before displacement.
