Coal Mining Environment and Health Problems: A Case of MCL affected Households at Talcher, Odisha (India)

This paper, dealing with coal mining environment and health problems, presents a comparative picture of pre-displaced and post-displaced situation in the Talcher coalfields. The major objectives of this paper include to explicate the coal mining caused negative externalities and health problems, to study the dynamics of social amenities and health status during pre-and post-displaced period, to assess health situation and health perception and to critically reflects upon mining caused illness, sickness and diseases among local people.
