Performance Standard 5: Land Acquisition and Involuntary Resettlement

The IFC’s Performance Standard 5 recognises that project-related land acquisition and restrictions on land use can have adverse impacts on people who own or use that land. IFC-funded projects are required to adhere to this standard. It also forms the basis of most mining industry policy commitments on this topic.
